More flavorful rice for dinner..??? What to cook the rice in instead of plain water? - can i use an oxo instead of broth

Has anyone suggestions for a base for cooking rice (instead of pure water). Finally made a decent .. tonight, basmati rice, but I thought, oh, if you add a spoonful of broth-based chicken OXO my water, rice would have much more flavor ....

Other suggestions for a base to cook rice?

Wine! I replace about 1 / 4 the height of the liquid, if I do with white wine, vermouth (dry or sweet), tequila, beer, cognac, white grape juice, etc.

I would like to add the gold, and any combination of the following characteristics: fresh chopped onions, garlic, celery, bell pepper, jalapeno, onions, leeks, dill, pine nuts, raisins, grapes, dried cranberries, walnuts, almonds, walnuts, cashews seeds, lemongrass, lemon, coconut milk, coconut, basil, coriander, bay leaves, basil, cumin, chili powder, tarragon, lemon juice, tomato sauce, tomato sauce, ground chicken, ground pork, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, soy sauce, oyster sauce, green chili.

So, toast the rice in a little butter and a little olive oil. The rice oil was burning. Just pan over medium-low heat until grains are opaque. Then add your liquid, flavorings, etc.

Be sure to match the spice accompanying rice. namely, cumin, oregano, lemon juice, onion, chili powder, garlic, green chilli, tequila, south of the border ... Food and so on.

Fry the rice in the first few minutes (3-4) in butter or olive oil with some chopped onion. You can) and dried herbs such as basil or oregano or rosemary (with poultry. Add a little chicken broth or beef stock or broth (canned is fine) instead of all waters, not just a few tablespoons.

1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 3 / 4 cups Arborio rice
Salt and pepper to taste
fresh thyme, chopped
fresh basil, chopped

NOTES
Place dried mushrooms in small bowl type with warm water and soak for 10 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon, remove and gently squeeze dry with paper towels. Chop mushrooms and set aside.
Scoop the cream of mushroom soup in a bowl and gradually into boiling water until the mixture is soft to touch but not liquid.
In a saucepan over medium heat, bring a broth simmer.
Cool, butter and olive oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Onions, garlic and mushrooms cut into slices, about 3 minutes to cook. Gradually add the rice and cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly so the rice with oil. Season with salt and pepper. Add thyme and basil to taste.
Pour mushroom soup, stir until absorbed. Gradually, has 1 / 3, stirring, until liquid is absorbed. Continue to slowly stir in stock, 1 cup at a time, so that the liquid is absorbed before a cup. It takes about 20 minutes for anyone to be absorbed and the rice al dente (tender but still) always fixed on the tooth.
